How do you feel before labor? (ladies only)?

hey ladies, I am 38w2d pregnant. My belly has dropped and the past couple days I've been getting spontaneous menstrual like cramps that only last for about a few minutes or less that's about it. I really want to meet my baby already and be done with my pregnancy! I really hope he gets here by the EDD. I was wondering how did you ladies feel days or even hours before going into labor? And is it common to not feel anything one day, then the next you have crazy contractions? Lol.
