Can I waive 1st extension, let current claim expire, and open a new claim?

My current claim ($220/wk) expires 4/30/2011. I've used all my benefits, and they sent me a "Continued Claim" form for extended benefits. I would rather NOT accept the extension,, and open a new claim that would have the max weekly benefit ($450/wk), more than double the weekly amount of my extension. I was fortunate enough to work a job Oct/Nov/Dec '10 that paid me over the EDD's max limit of $11,647. Obviously I'd prefer the new claim w/ higher wkly amount. Do I have a choice?
